商学院简介

 

广东外语外贸大学商学院是中国内地第26家、全球第225家通过AMBA国际认证的商学院,是全国第3家通过EPAS国际认证的商学院,入选教育部全国首批国家级创新创业教育实践基地建设单位。工商管理学科2023年软科排名位列全国前19%。学院秉承广东外语外贸大学“明德尚行,学贯中西”的校训,立足“全球视野、中国商道”的办学定位,以“培养国际高端商科人才”为使命,践行以“社会责任、尊重包容、正直诚信、知行合一、创业精神”为要素的SMILE价值观,持续打造“国际化”和“数字化”两大特色,正在向实现“成为国际化特色鲜明的高水平商学院”的美好愿景快速迈进。

 

【人才培养】

学院十分重视学生的创新创业、实践应用、思辨和沟通能力的培养,将创新精神、创业意识“内嵌”到人才培养的全过程,学院培育的创新创业团队多次在中国国际“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛、挑战杯等国家级和省级比赛中获金奖;学院获广东省大学生创新创业教育示范学校、广东省创新创业教育实践基地、广州市创新创业(孵化)示范基地等多项荣誉,作为华南地区首所高校与斯坦福大学共建创新创业师资课程中心,学院建有国际丝路创业教育联盟广州基地、广东省跨境电商行业协会创业孵化基地等,大力推动“一带一路”背景下的全球创业教育事业。

学院毕业生综合素质高,就业竞争能力强,普遍受到用人单位的欢迎,呈现高就业率和高层次就业良好态势。学生就业方向包括外资企业(雀巢、西门子、可口可乐、宝洁、箭牌、四大会计师事务所、渣打银行等)、国有企业(中国移动、中国电信、中国石化、四大国有商业银行、中国邮政等)、民营企业(百度、阿里巴巴、腾讯、网易、海尔、华为、碧桂园、美的、TCL、富力地产等)和政府机关(外交部、新华社、纪委、海关、税务局、公安厅等)。

学院有推免研究生资格,每年均可推荐或接收优秀学生免试攻读硕士学位。平均每年约15%的毕业生选择出国深造,如美国哥伦比亚大学、美国卡耐基梅隆大学、美国范德堡大学、伦敦大学等。

 

【学科专业】

工商管理学科是广东省优势重点学科和高水平大学建设计划重点建设学科。商学院与经管学部共同建有应用经济学一级学科博士点和5个二级学科博士点,13个一级学科硕士点和9个专业学位硕士点。商学院拥有工商管理学、管理科学与工程2个一级学科硕士点,设有企业管理、技术经济及管理2个二级学科硕士点,以及工商管理硕士(MBA)、应用心理硕士2个专业硕士学位授权点。有工商管理、市场营销、人力资源管理、电子商务、供应链管理5个本科专业,其中,工商管理、市场营销和人力资源管理专业是国家级一流本科专业建设点,电子商务专业是省级一流本科专业建设点。

  

【师资力量】

院现有教职工108人,其中专任教师82人,国家级人才4人,省级人才3人,省教学名师1人,教授28人,副教授28人,云山杰出学者2人,云山青年学者15人,国(境)外教师5人;另有广东外语外贸大学云山工作室首席专家3人、云山讲座教授4人、长期或短期聘用外教近10人,并聘请了50多位国内外著名管理学家、经济学家和企业家为客座教授或校外硕士生导师,形成了一支富于创新、勇于实践,知识结构和年龄结构合理的教师队伍,为建设一流商学院奠定了师资基础。

 

【学术科研】

学院建有1个省级哲学社会科学重点实验室,1个省级人文社会科学重点研究基地、1个教育部备案区域与国别研究中心、3个省级科研创新团队、6个校级人文社会科学重点研究基地和研究团队、1个中外共建合作研究中心(广外-梅西大学可持续发展与企业社会责任研究中心)。近年来,在Production and Operations Management、《管理世界》、《管理科学学报》、Journal of Business Research等国内外权威期刊上发表高水平论文200余篇;近160个国家级、省部级项目获得立项,其中国家自然科学基金重点国际合作研究项目1项;出版著作、教材及译著等100余部;近50份咨询报告被省级及以上政府或领导采纳或批示。

 

【国际认证与合作】

学院积极推进国际化战略,坚持“依托认证、以评促建,推动国际化特色的内涵式发展与持续改进”发展路径,顺利通过AMBA国际认证、EPAS国际认证和BGA金牌认证,荣获AMBA&BGA全球商科卓越奖金奖;与澳大利亚昆士兰大学、美国亚利桑那州立大学、英国兰卡斯特大学、法国格列诺布尔商学院、新西兰梅西大学、韩国蔚山大学等近50所国(境)外院校建立了合作关系,在双学位联合培养、交换生、短期游学、科研合作及联合举办学术会议等方面深入推进合作;作为中国高校领衔单位,与欧盟合作的ERASMUS+LMPT项目获评“优秀”等级;加强与港澳高校的联系,持续举办教育部内地与港澳大学师生交流计划研修班2项,吸引来自港澳等高校的500余名学生参加;与广交会、粤港澳大湾区(广东)创新创业孵化基地、阿里巴巴国际站、新西兰粤商会等共建国际化实习基地。

Introduction to the School of Business

 

The School of Business (SoB) of GDUFS is the 26th business school in mainland China and the 225th in the world to be accredited by AMBA, and the third in China to be accredited by EPAS. Also, the school has been selected as the first group of national innovation and entrepreneurship education practice base construction units by the Ministry of Education. The Business Administration discipline ranked in the top 19% in China according to the 2023 Soft Science Ranking of Chinese Universities Subject. Upholding the motto of Pursuit of Integrity, Practice, and Cross-cultural Learning, SoB established an orientation of nurturing global-minded people with Chinese business artistry. With the mission of “cultivating international business talents of high quality”, SoB adheres to the SMILE (Social Responsibility, Mutual Respect, Integrity, Learning by Doing, Entrepreneurship) values, and is continually creating two characteristics of “internationalization” and “digitalization”, in order to realize the beautiful vision of being a top-tier internationalized business school with distinctive features and excellent quality.

 

Talent Cultivation

SoB has always been attaching great importance to the cultivation of students’ innovation, entrepreneurship, practical capabilities, critical thinking, and communication skills. The innovative spirit and entrepreneurial consciousness are “embedded” into the whole process of talent cultivation. The innovative and entrepreneurial teams cultivated by the college have won gold awards in national and provincial competitions such as the China International College Students “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the Challenge Cup. Meanwhile, the school has been awarded the Guangdong College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration School, Guangdong Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Base, and Guangzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Incubation) Demonstration Base. SoB is the first school in South China to jointly establish an innovation and entrepreneurship teaching course center with Stanford University. The school has established the Guangzhou Platform of the Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Network and the Entrepreneurship Incubation Base of the Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Industry Association to vigorously promote global entrepreneurship education under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Graduates from SoB are of highly comprehensive qualities and strong competitiveness in employment. They are well received by employers, showing a high employment rate and employment quality. The graduates are employed in foreign-funded enterprises (including Nestle, Siemens, Coca-Cola, Procter&Gamble, Wrigley, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young, and Standard Chartered Bank), state-owned enterprises (including China Mobile, China Telecom, Sinopec, ICBC, BOC, CCB, ABC, and China Post), private enterprises (such as Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, NetEase, Haier, Huawei, Country Garden, Midea, TCL, and R&FProperties), and government agencies (such as Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Xinhua News Agency, Commission for Discipline Inspection, Customs, Taxation Administration, and Public Security Department).

SoB is eligible to send and receive postgraduate students exempt from the Unified National Graduate Entrance Examination each year. About 15% of graduates of SoB choose to study abroad each year on average, including Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, Vanderbilt University, and the University of London.

 

Disciplines

The Business Administration discipline was approved to be a key discipline of the High-Level University Construction Plan of Guangdong Province. SoB offers a First-level Doctoral Program of Applied Economics co-established with the Economics and Management Division, two First-level Master’s Degree Programs in Business Administration and Management Science and Engineering, two Second-level Master’s Degree Programs in Business Management, and Technological Economics and Management, and two Professional Master’s Degree Programs in Master of Business Administration(MBA) and Master of Applied Psychology. SoB provides five undergraduate majors in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resource Management, E-commerce, and Supply Chain Management, and has established Business Administration (International Innovation Class) and Business Administration (International Business Innovation Class). Among them, Business Administration, Marketing, and Human Resource Management were approved as the national first-class teaching site for undergraduate programs, and E-commerce was approved as the provincial first-class teaching site for the undergraduate program.

 

Faculty

SoB currently has a faculty of 108 members, among whom 82 are full-time teachers, 4 National Talents, 3 Provincial talents, 1 Provincial Excellent Teachers, 28 professors, 28 associate professors, 2 Yunshan Outstanding Scholars, 15 Yunshan Youth Scholars and 5 foreign(overseas) teachers. SoB has 3 Chief Experts from Yunshan Studio of GDUFS, 4 Yunshan Chair Professors, and about 10 foreign teachers with long- or short-term contracts. Over 50 famous management experts, economists, and entrepreneurs both at home and abroad are invited as visiting professors or off-campus master supervisors. SoB strives to build a faculty team with a strong sense of innovation, great courage of practice, and a reasonable structure of education background and age, laying a solid teaching basis for constructing a first-class business school.

 

Academic Research

SoB has 1 provincial research base for humanities and social sciences, 1 Research Center for Latin America Studies which is a regional and national research center registered in the Ministry of Education, 6 key research bases and teams for humanities and social sciences, and 1 international cooperative research center (GDUFS-Massey University Sustainable Development and CSR Research Center).  In recent years, over 190 high-quality papers have been published in authoritative journals such as the Journal of Management World, Production and Operations Management, Acta Psychologica Sinica, and Journal of Business Research. SoB has also launched nearly 140 national or provincial projects, among which 3 are national social science key topics and 1 is the key international cooperative research project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Moreover, more than 100 monographs, textbooks, or translated works have been published. Nearly 50 consulting reports have been adopted by governments at the provincial level or above.

 

International Accreditation and Cooperation

SoB actively promotes the internationalization strategy and adheres to the development path of “relying on accreditation, promoting construction through evaluation, and advancing connotative development and continuous improvement with international characteristics”. SoB has successfully obtained AMBA international accreditation, EPAS international accreditation, and BGA gold accreditation, and won the Gold Award for Excellence of the AMBA & BGA Global Business Program. To date, SoB has established partnerships with nearly 50 foreign (overseas) colleges and universities, including the University of Queensland (Australia), Arizona State University (the US), Lancaster University (the UK), Grenoble Business School (France), Massey University (New Zealand), and Ulsan University (Korea). The cooperation covers double-degree programs for undergraduates and postgraduates, faculty and student exchanges, overseas study trips, scientific research, and joint academic conferences. As a leading department of Chinese universities, the ERASMUS+LMPT project in cooperation with the European Union of SoB was recognized for excellence. Sob also strengthens contacts with universities in Hong Kong and Macao, and continues to offer 2 training courses for teacher-student exchange programs between the Mainland universities of the Ministry of Education and universities in Hong Kong and Macao, attracting more than 500 students from universities in Hong Kong and Macao. Last but not least, SoB has cooperation with the China Import and Export Fair, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in Guangdong, Alibaba.com, and the Cantonese Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand, to jointly build an international practice base.
