On July 7, the 4th PRIME-SOB Forum “Research Focus & Informed Publishing Decisions at School of Business, GDUFS” was held in Room 349 of the Faculty Office Building, University Town Campus of GDUFS. The Director of International Office (IO) LIU Shumin and the Deputy Director of Graduate Student Office SUN Yujiao were the lecturers, whereas the whole foreign faculties and IO faculties attended the forum. It was hosted by WANG Ying.

In the lecture, Dr. Sun first provided an overview of the faculty and staff of our school, including professional titles, the academic background and etc. She also introduced our school’s scientific research achievements in terms of papers, books, research projects, policy consultation, awards as well as research centers & teams. Then she elaborated the specific research areas of each major and the according strengths, so that the foreign faculties could understand the key research priorities in discipline development.

As to the publishing decisions, Dr. Liu shared the Academic Journal Evaluation System, the journal tier classification, and the journal tier inquiry of our university with our foreign teachers. She suggested them to check the Early Warning Journal List and carefully assessed the related risk indicators before submission. She especially recommended the journals that maintaining consistent high rankings in order to avoid the possibility of downgraded in ranking and the potential setbacks.

After the lecture, Dr. Syed Jamal Shah gave a brief but vivid presentation of his research as well. He explored how work-family conflict triggers reactive aggression among healthcare professionals, examining both instrumental and hostile motivations behind venting behaviors and displaced aggression in clinical settings. The lecturers and the attendees had a discussion with each other over the related issues, and they all showed the active attitude for the further research and the collaboration.

Adhering to the development path of “relying on the accreditation, promoting the construction by evaluation, as well as promoting the connotative development and the continuous improvement with international characteristics”, SoB shall continue the PRIME-SOB forum series, serving as a platform for international collaboration, educational innovation, and cross-cultural exchange between foreign faculty and domestic faculty and students.
